Hi guys, I opened up my M3 preamp yesterday to add a few quick mods. I was very surprised to see all the RCAs had turned a dark color. They look like they had been burnt.
I just built the thing over a year ago, how could they tarnish so much already. They are really ugly, I am going to think seriously about changing them all out, but no more AN silver plated.
I had noticed that the plating didn't last long on the end where the interconnect plugs in, but I didn't expect the part inside the preamp to get like this.
I tried cleaning them with some deoxit, but didn't help.
Anybody else had this happen ?
AB.
