Yes, I normally drive my E Lexus Signatures with the A08 and really love the low level detail - beginnings and endings of notes, timbre/tone - I get from it. Someone once referred to a good 45 amp as having fine filigree, almost psychedelic, detail and I'm inclined to agree. This is with Emission Labs meshplate 45s; it's a good bit less so with classic Coke bottle 45s.

The volume and sense of dynamics I get in a room that's 14' wide and probably mid-20's deep - at least 15' to my chair - is fine for all but the largest of works, (eg - Verdi's Requiem, Mahler, etc.) My Audio Note Conqueror (stereo 300B) shows that the A08's really a bit light in the "guts 'n glory" department, but I'm happy to give up that last bit of power in order to reap the other benefits.

After hearing the mono kit amps with interstage transformers at VSAC, I'm VERY strongly attracted to the idea of building a pair and selling the other two. What I can't decide is 1 or 2 2A3 per channel, or perhaps 1 or 2 300Bs per. At the the show we had 2 300Bs per channel in a 12,000 cubic foot room, which is well outside the recommended range for the E, but the sound was outstanding. While they couldn't pressurize THAT much air the way we ideally like to hear, the inner detail, timbre, tone, pace, etc . . . . was absolutely outstanding. In a room like mine, which is 1/5 the size , I think I'd be well into the "have my cake and eat it, too" zone.

Mind you, that was with IEC transformers and Electro Harmonix 300Bs, and the amps were "can still smell the paint" new at the outset of the show. They improved hand over fist until the was leaving people slack-jawed Saturday afternoon. What would they sound like with 500 hours on them, double c-core transformers and Western Electrics? Or Emission Labs mesh 2A3s . . . ?
