Just to follow up on my previous post, I mentioned the use of Teflon bypasses. I have to add that when using decent poly or even good lytic capacitors with low ESR & high ripple, the bypass capacitors are not realy needed to provide good sonic results.
If you are using less expensive or older lytic capacitors with a high ESR, they could effect the high frequencies. Bypassing these helps prevent some of the high frequency filtering caused by higher ESR in some lytic capacitors. This is also effected by the values of the main filtering capacitors.
Each application reacts differently and the only way to know for sure is by measuring. There are many situations where there has been an improvement in the measurements but minimal changes to the ear. It depends on how far you want to take things.
This is a fun hobby and you will get opinions on both sides. Just use you own ears to determine what sounds best for you and your system.
