anticipate a drop of around 15v out of the tube rectifier. And also across the choke. Here's a suggestion : have someone wind a choke - the same size as the original, use maybe 26-27 gauge, that should get you around 7 Hy. Put one in the positive side, another on the negative, and you have approx 14-15 Hy. That whacks off ripple, and yet provides plenty of dynamics.
