AN Kit 1 : upgrade questions

Hi all. Just bought a very good example of this kit - extremely impressed with the sound, especially after we put balanced inputs on using AN input transformers. Oh, I'm using WE 300B as well (which I love) and I changed the stock rectifier for a Mullard GZ37 (slightly lower amps but I've used them in that position before and I love the sound).

I'm looking inside at things to upgrade. The signal cable would seem to be a first choice and the 300B cathode caps are cheap black gates rather than the WKz - fortunately I have the right ones ready and waiting.

More problematic are the wirewound resistors on the 300B cathodes - yeuch ! 2 x 23W parallel is going to be tough to replace though. Let me see - 23 x 2W Tantalums in a ladder - I think not! Any suggestions or experience woudl be very much appreciated here.
