Hint to component removal: If you plan on doing any further modifications, a helpful tool for clearing component holes is a “pin viseâ€. These are small hand held, manually operated (your fingers) drills, with small drill bits. Pin vices can be purchased at hobby shops, and you can purchase variety size drill bits.Once the component is removed, use a solder sucker to remove the excess solder, but if you cannot get all the solder out, you can “drill out†the remaining solder out of the hole. Drill bits can be purchased in just the correct size to remove the solder with out destroying the trace. If I remember correctly, you need drill bits .060†to .070â€. As long as the component lead is removed the pin vise will clean out the hole nicely
