Kit 2.0 Pre-amp noise problem

Some help here please. I am just new to this DIY area.
I bought the the Line-only Pre-amp Kit 2.0 from Brian and I am having some noise "hum" problem:
By increasing the volumen control a "hum" noise can be heard from the speakers starting at the middle point. The "hum" continues to increase up to the maximun position where you can meassure about 55 dbs at 4 inches from the mid-tweeter drivers. The sources are disconnected and the noise is the same for both channels.
I don't remember if this happened when I finished the assembling and first used the pre-amp about a month ago. I guess it didn't.
Could be this normal? What could I check ?
