including line level DACs, preamps and my TI based Fosi Integrated. It's more than output devices involved.Some SS components lack power switches as they are designed to be run 24/7.
The first one I encountered was the beautiful Mark Levinson JC-2 back in 1975 that set the bar for SS preamp performance in its day. In some ways better than the SP-3a. The dealer who I later worked for in college owned both driving a Threshold 800A and Dayton-Wright XG-8s. I modeled the passive I used for many years after its appearance. :)
