TW, I made a passive preamp. The amp I am using with it is the Dynaco-ST-35. I have a Dynaco St-70 too. I made a project box first from Radio Shack. I used 20,50 and 100k ohm pots. The pots were there at the Shack and cost about 4 bucks from ALPS. What sounded best with the Dynas was the 100k ohm pot.I bought some better ones (100k pots),from Alps called the Black Beauties or Widows,I'm forgetting. They were about 30 bucks 13 years ago and have never even made a snap, crackle,or pop. I think you should use your ears instead of math. I did a lot of summer school for math, that means I got an F,the first time. I have the Dyna manuals with listed output impedence listed and will dig them out.I don't know what your using for an amp,but if you say I'm sure other passive preamp nuts like me will chime in......Mark Korda
