I am a newbie and wish to know what value of the potentiometer I should use

I am a newbie and is not good at electric circuit. I use a output transformer 600:25k for my passive preamp and the input impedance of the next stage amplification is 100k. According to the principle of impedance matching, i.e. the output impedance should be 1/10 of the input impedance of the next stage amplification, should the output impedance of my passive preamp be 10k – 20k? If so, what value of the potentiometer should I use for my passive preamp?
