Sounds like the easy option is to just turn the speakers around and wire + to - and - to +; i.e. turn the speaker around and invert the entire speaker cable connections.
Perhaps one can address any unwanted crispiness by using additional felt around the ribbon.
I have them all apart now so it's easy to do anything so I am just trying to work out the most optimal configuration.
