If you want an "upgrade" then a model which has a true-ribbon (as distinct from the 'quasi ribbon'!) is the option to go for.
So your option A would include:
* 2.5s
* 2.6s
* IIIAs
* 3.3s
* 3.5s
* 3.6s
* 3.7s.
2.7s are a) rare and b) don't use a true-ribbon.
And re. your option C:
* only T-IVs and T-IVAs use a true-ribbon.
