Yes it true ....the magnepans when working right ...are a lot of fun...but there cheplee...Made.. an in cost as panel type speakers go ....
I dont care for any of the newer magnepan with the pole-peace in the back...but looks like a lot of people think mmg are the best with the new setup..
Older type sound sweeter too me....pole-peace in front...some do mods an setup the new ones like the older ones...but this is just me...
The tweeter foil or the base wire...is not solder....just the wires too the crossover partes.....
My boy rudy never like the maggys...he was a Esl/full ribbon man....but like all good thinks he moved on now....goodluck
