Beautiful!

The low end is dynamic - hell, the whole thing is 'dynamic': a 4 way speaker; six 8" polypropylene-cone woofers in 2 separate columns, and seven of Infinity's proprietary EMIM ribbon midrange drivers and four EMIT ribbon tweeters in 2 mid/high columns! Have to be biamped; comes with active XO! But the HF drivers dip to 2 ohms. Didn't see any sensitivity specs.

"All in all then, the RS-1Bs must be ranked among the very best speaker systems that money can buy without going completely overboard." And for less than $5300 new. Here's a link to the original Stereophile review. The followup was not quite as friendly (http://www.stereophile.com/content/infinity-reference-standard-1b-loudspeaker-anthony-h-cordesman-returns).

Bet they sound great. Glad I don't have to move them, although by today's standards at 'only' 90 lbs each, they're not that heavy. Your brother is a lucky guy, especially if he's into rock and roll.
