I used a ribbon LF cutoff of 900Hz on my actively triamped 3.6Rs. But I seem to remember that the 2.6R, a 2-way Maggie with a true ribbon mid/high driver, had a cutoff of 800Hz. So I got to wondering just how low that 1/4 inch wide ribbon could go. FYI, the 2.6R does use a shorter ribbon (45") than the 3.6R (55") or the 20.1R (60"). Could it go lower and not self-destruct? If it would self-destruct, would it be possible to run two ribbons and cover the entire midrange with one of them?
