As being a previous owner of the 3.3R I can attest there is an effect of
having the radiating panel on the back side of the magnet structure prior to the front. While many think there is no discernible difference I found there was. (the 3.6 as I can assume has the diaphragm placed on the front
rather the back side of the magnets). After owning MMG,s , 1.6 and later
the 3.3R I was impressed by the true ribbon of the 3.3 but felt that the
mids and bass had some veiling to their sound. This could more than likely
be the magnet structure placing in effect a comb filter in front of this
radiating surface. Personally it seemed as if the mid section would
localize itself due to small radiating area but personally prefer having
the mid bass panel not being divided ( presently using Apogee Cal Sigs which do not have this division ).
