It doesn't matter in the least. It's a short length of wire and unless you do something bizarre like use telephone wire it isn't going to have much of an effect on impedances or anything else. If you want to be compulsive about it, I suppose you could use the same gauge as Magnepan to avoid inaudible alterations to the crossover response.
