It won't be "nothing" affecting the higher frequencies, but will definitely be transparent if you use a good capacitor. Frequencies between the crossover point, say 50 hz, and 100 hz will have a small phase shift but nothing special beyond that. At worst, if you are using a subwoofer, you may need to reset it.
