Here comes more drooling.

"Much like the boom in new luxury cars, the value of rare cars has risen mostly as the wealthy look for a place to store their excess money in a way that won't depreciate. There will always be more stocks and bonds, but General Motors will never make another '67 L88 Vette."
That's how I feel about my gear!! ( Slightly different scale, of course)

The guy that lived next door to me had a baby blue split windowed Vette in the 70's, but his wasn't an L88. However, my friend in the next block (who still is my friend) had an 427 L88 shoehorned into a 1967 Camaro. This big block was quite impressive with the big aluminum heads and canted valves. It would literally pin you to the seat when he ran through the gears. As you probably know, the heads on 427 L88 paved the way for the Boss 302, 351 Cleveland and M (Modified) head. Why should the big block guys have all the fun!

The hammer price was 3.5 mil, they added BJ's 10% "fee" which is too much in my mind. BJ can be fun to watch but Saturday gets boring with Corvettes, Z-28's,Mustangs and Tri-5's. I like variety. I liked seeing the Fiat Dino, Kaiser Darin, Chrysler land yachts with big crossfires and other weird stuff. To me though Saturday is like listening to a bad classic rock station.

They had some very expensive superbirds on there with the 426 Hemi..I think one of Richard Petty's brought 1.2 million.

That is one beautiful car...
Yeah but you aren't going to find one of them in some old guy's basement for thirty bucks...)
I never found a Marantz 7C either! In 1982 I could have bought a 1968 Mustang 428 Cobra Jet for $2000. Oh well!
