I have not used the carpet feet, but why not use something less costly and see how they work?
My experience with Iso-Acoustic products has been nothing but positive to say the least. I now use Orea's under my TT, Amp,and speakers and recently bought the smaller model orea(up to four lbs.) to experiment with, which means on my SpaceDeck TT I put one on top of the spindle motor wheel, then I tried one in conjunction with some heavy brass items I had as a TT weight--huge difference.
For me these product are great and put final touches on everything and they don't break the bank. Highly recommended!

I thought the Oreas were designed for components only? You use them under speakers?

No, sorry, I should have said that I am using the Gaia's under the speakers. But as with all incremental improvements, you should hear: clarity, from the bass through instrument separation, along with a more heightened sense of realism that has yet another layer removed.
All of this is contingent upon the sensitivity of your ears coupled with the sensitivity of your equipment.
If you're like me, you start with your speakers, then continue on to other components. I have used Herbie's and experimented with a lot of DIY and brass, crystals, etc., and these are superior, as their price would suggest.
Thanks. So are you using the Gaias on carpet sans spikes?

No I am not, BUT, the only negative I had with the Gaia's was when I first installed them I hated the sound, which sounded dulled and lifeless. When I looked at the Gaia's and realized the bottom part was like a suction cup, I actually decoupled them from the floor, and then there was a great improvement.
I contacted Iso-Acoustics with my problem, and they did not know why I heard what I heard. It could be because I have "floating" floor over concrete and perhaps there was some negative interaction there. Anyway problem solved. Good luck!
