Well alternatively maybe a Copper one cent piece under each spike?

The Copper(Alloy?) may aid mechanical grounding /etc of the point fulcrum.

I use this under my Mapleshade blocks --work very well I feel

  Des....the spike will easily penetrate the coin and then the floor. Many companies make brass cups to put the points into. ....to prevent damage.

    Eh? penetrate the coin--sheesh--never had that--ah well possible I suppose with the lbs per square inch factor /etc.
