I guess Bennic/Dayton/PE can label these however they want. Therefore, the MPT designation is not universal, and use of it to specify polymer content is not, apparently, irrefutable. A few Chinese manufacturers make an MPT and claim it is PP. Why they use that instead of MKP makes me a bit suspicious, but indications are that their MPT is a PP cap, despite industry conventions. Why muddy the water?
The color of the end fill material is also an indicator of which Bennic "family" these caps belong in. These are white, while the XPP, a cap with somewhat better specs, is yellow.
I apologize to everyone who has wasted their time reading or responding to my posts. I do stand by the suggestion that the precision cap offers no advantage over standard grade in coupling duty, but could be useful in crossovers. I have used Bennic XPP in that application and as couplers, and they are among the poorer sounding film caps. However, as nearly the cheapest available, they do serve a purpose. If you're taking the time and trouble to modify a circuit, you might as well spend a bit more and select a better part. If you're experimenting and interested only in saving money, these will do.

Well, egg is an excellent source of protein. My guess is that one could come up with a better sounding or much better sounding cap for not much more money and that thinking along the lines of the much used, and for a good reason the Wima MPK-10 which I have heard and used and the very well thought of by a couple of people with experience with them the Cornell Dubilier 940c. These are inexpensive or very inexpensive caps. I agree that saving a few extra bucks in a situation like this doesn't make any sense to me for a personal project. Maybe you can suggest better sounding caps that are still very inexpensive or comment on the two I mentioned. Humble Hi Fi likes both the Wima and the CDI 940c. Edit: The 2.2 940c is around $13 so it wouldn't exactly fit the super budget paridigm.

Don't feel bad, Dayton Audio should have a data sheet for these listing the specs, and they do not, not even on their own website.
