The Precison Grade is a little better than the basic Dayton. I prefer Erse for budget cap use, or the new ClarityCap CSA - a step up for not too much more. CSA is a stone cold bargain. Like baby MRs.EDIT: I believe the Dayton is a Bennic FPP with tighter tolerance. See Tony Gee's assessment.

Yo wushuliu,go ahead, tell us what you really think about the Bennic. Good heads up on the ClarityCap CSA. That should lead some people in the right direction. Tony Gee rates them a 9. Around $7.50 for a 2.2.

Thanks for the feedback, wushuliu.
What do you think of using a Vishay Roederstein ERO MKP1839 0.01uF 630V bypass cap for this particular low-cost output coupling cap application?
TIA

I think using the 1839 is worth a try to open things up presentation-wise.
Thanks, I'll give it a try. I had good results with the particular capacitor for another output coupling capacitor application.

And just a general FYI: Tony Gee has finally updated his Cap Test page, including a downloadable PDF!
Thanks for the heads-up about the update, wushuliu.
Tony Gee's reports, and Eric's "Hi-fi adventures in Sunny Singapore" have been my go-to websites about the topic (see link below).
Eric is also my most respected "power cord comrade". He tells it like it is, and I've agreed with his insightful evaluations in most cases.
Cheers, Duster

Yep, Eric's site is great. Haven't checked on it in a while, glad to know he is still at it.
