btw, IC pins are made from copper, and are tinned.
If you want to avoid tin you're going to have a problem - just about every type of solder contains tin - leaded, unleaded, silver solder..
Remember if you believe everything you read on forums then you will go mad in a very short time ;)

Frankly, I would never think to do it. I've always relied on good ol' Kester 44 and the best quality components I can get. If it's point to point it's a good bet I'll start with whatever I can get the quickest, then slowly swap stuff out.
I think I replaced 90% of the Bottlehead Paramour monoblocks I made by the time all was said and done.
