I think you might be referring to the ASI "Sugar Cubes" and the Synergistic HFT's. I've got a combination of both on the front wall of my HT/casual listening set up.( 18 total on the front wall and 6 additional placed near the listening position) They add sound stage depth and atmosphere to the overall presentation. A nice effect for sure. Later I added a two of the large Clubwood resonating bells behind each speaker. I'm not sure anything changed after adding the bells. Now could I take down all the other treatments and just leave the bells to see if they alone could produce this effect? I doubt it. It seems one has to put a lot of these tiny devices in a room to have an effect and the "large" bell isn't really large. All I can say in the end is YMMV in regard to the "bell". In a different room/system, their effect might be more pronounced. Your DIY Skakti Hallowgraphs sound interesting BTW. How did you fabricate those those?

A few years back, someone posted here on how to make the Hallographs. A jigsaw, some plywood and sandpaper and about 30 hours of work later, voila! I suspect any type of material would work--exotic woods seem like bs, gives them a reason to inflate the price. The great thing about them is you can expand or focus the soundfield ie for orchestra vs. chamber, jazz vs. rock etc. Maybe do a search to try to find the post.
Thanks Ric. I'll check it out, but at least I now know a jigsaw is involved.
