A fuse would be a good start. Otherwise for full out mods,Bill Thalman can't be beat.

rockanroller, if you are into DIY the links below have some good info. they can all add up to better sound from your CDP, also a upgrade to your AC power cord can make a improvement in sound quality.

Inside your CD player by the power inlet, you will have a fuse. Usually a 1.6 amp small, fast blow fuse. Replace this fuse with a hi fi tuning supreme, or similar. Instant improvement
