I've done it with a standard stripper. You just have to be very carful and hold the wire while you pull the stripper. Rotate the stripper 180 degrees, before you pull. I am curious, why don't you just replace the wires?

Thanks for the tips guys.these are older IEMs with non- detachable cables. My eyesight is now poor for such small detail. I'll get the microscope out and work slowly and carefully.
Magnification is a wonderful thing. For tiny wires I much prefer a sharp razor blade to a set of strippers for really small stuff, especially when it is already attached on the other end. It takes more work but there is less risk to pulling things apart as sometimes happens with strippers.
