The giant retailer's low prices often come with a high cost. Wal-Mart's relentless pressure can crush the companies it does business with and force them to send jobs overseas. Are we shopping our way straight to the unemployment line?
David Faber, of CNBC, hosted a 1-hour special on the company, back in 2006 I believe. They push their suppliers to cut costs by 5 cents here, 5 cents there, until they are left with no choice but to send the manufacturing overseas. It's either that or get pulled from the W-M shelves, which would be catastrophic to any company, large or small.
W-M is an evil empire, one that America has unconciously catapulted to the dominant position in household-goods retail. When you are living on unemployment you cannot afford to shop anywhere else. But guess who probably put you in the unemployment line in the first place?
Many classic American companies can no longer manufacture their goods in this country anymore due to fundamental pressures *originally* exerted on them by Walmart. Consider this article and decide for yourself, "Is Walmart Good for America?":
