Thanks stu. Sawdust? That's it? I'm surprised at the results that have been demonstrated to me.
Follow Ups:
that mylar strip. It is critical in their design. Al Sekela and Bart rave about the Power wraps which are basically a mu metal like wire which coils around the power cords.

I like them. I use them, but not on everything. No prejudice nor theory in that decision, just pocketbook and laziness issues.
Al liked them a great deal more than I did, but he did two things I didn't do:
1) He ran the wire the complete length of his cables, mostly his PCs.
2) He eventually started grounding them as well.
Al's system sounds superb, so I don't doubt his results. I never tested these in my system, as I can't afford that much PW wire and I am not the world's champ solderer either.
Again, another scheme using about 3 metals to absorb the RFI. I don't know if it's the same formula as Mu metal. I've never tried MM.
You can use an alligator clip like Shum Mook and ground the power wrap.
Stu
Al was friends with Don Palmer, so he had ready access to the wire in Power Wraps. I don't, and that's an awful lot of wraps at about $25-30 each.....
