I'm probably going to get flamed, which is fine, but this whole crystal thing is just nuts.
This has to be the largest case of pseudo acoustics the world has ever seen. "Lower hum" from adding crystals. Why on earth would high end equipment have ANY hum in the first place? 3 pounds of crystals improves the sound of your CD player? We all know that high end CD players all have exposed wires, dirty power supplies, and loose connections that these magic crystals will magically fix and thus improve the sound.
I found a web site selling bottles and zip lock baggies full of these "magic crystals" for $129. Stupid tax! They had a picture of baggies of these things taped to interconnect cables. Like a bag full of rocks with no electrical properties is going to magically have an influence on wire that is under several layers of insulation.
I'm not a huge believer in expensive power cables either, but at least there is a tiny sliver of logic since the cord at least has electrical properties. Not the there is ANY measurable difference between a $1 stock IEC power cable, a $50 iron lung jellyfish, and $50,000 cable that has strands of white gold, rare yellow silver, and was blessed by a Rabi, but at least the thing is in the circuit.
You can praise the "improvements" that these magic crystals are making, but much like religion, I'm not going there until you can show me verifiable, repeatable, quantifiable proof.
"Idiocracy" had it all wrong. We'll be there way sooner then 500 years!

I cant judge the crystals effects as I havent tried them yet.

Certainly this is a truism. Though the crystals that everyone is talking about DO have electrical (piezoelectric) properties AFAIK.
RF is real Jay.

an easier test to verify. With the system off the HF amp in my bi-amp a Conrad Johnson amp has a noisy transformer. Anyone could hear it. Putting large crystals atop the amp and fooling with their position made it go away. PERIOD!
Feel free to come over to my house and I will prove it to you in about one minute.

If you can post a video on YouTube, maybe you can get a bajillion hits and become an internet sensation :)
You can forget about placing crystals on your interconnects, on transformers and the CD player, it's placing them just inside the front door or in a room corner or on a tube trap that will blow your mind.
