Being close to your ears, your shirt collar may be interfering with the acoustics of the music. I've experimented with low back vs high back chairs, and there may have been small differences in the sound, but nothing approaching to what I heard by placing a bag of mixed crystals on my breaker box. Room acoustics on the other hand, are perhaps the biggest influence on the sound of a system.
