Alan, I was comparing the maestro outlets to my porter ports.
Image: Audio Grade Oyaide R1 Beryllium, platinum + palladium, beryllium copper base metal AC outlet, mounted on Oyaide WPC-Z wall mount unit (machined aluminum bracket with carbon fiber faceplate system).
The Porter Port is among the finest example of old School AC outlets -- cryo'd all-brass Hospital Grade was SOTA, and the Porter Port (NASA cryo'd, so it was said) was the bomb, IME.
However, as time has passed (say "design/technology updates/innovations"), the notion of Audio Grade has delivered enough to surpass Hospital Grade AC gear, to many experienced ears. AC delivery is great fun! :-)
There's a number of Audio Grade AC gear products to choose from these days, available at various price-points...
A not so unaffordable notion, really.

Duster, I compared other outlets to my porter ports...S.R. Telsa and the Oyaide R1 and they hyped up the mids and highs...Live Music does not sound like this. I know its a personal thing but for me the porter ports was the most neutral outlet that did not add or subtrack anything from the music. I'm going wait a week or so before saying anything about the maestro outlets.

I would agree with your findings. The R1 made everything sound like hi-fi, not natural. It was vivid and I can see why some might enjoy the "sound"
In the end to each his own. The maestro outlets in my audio system work fine, a bit more open, and quite than the Porters, but I could live with either over the Telsa's or R1.

Oyaide, Furutech and Acme emphasized the upper frequencies and were a bad match for my system. I settled on Porter Ports after listening to five or six alternatives and found that they did everything right, and to my ears were the most neutral and tonally balanced of the group. Saying that they have become obsolete because of more recent designs misses the point. I'm also burning in a Maestro Outlet and will listen to it in a few weeks. The felt bag that it comes in is a little kinky, but I'll try not to let it influence me too much.
My maestro outlets have been settling-in for only 4 full days and nights playing music non-stop and these outlets are already much better than my porter ports...clearly superior! These outlets are the most neutral and most accurate outlets that I have ever heard..by far! I want to wait and see how much more they improve in the next month or two before saying anything else.
....it's about personal preference, the choice of "flavors", budget (of course), and application (a given outlet may perform better in home theater rather than dedicated audio, and vice-versa).
I liken it to food tasting and wine tasting. There are a number of "bests". Fortunately, we have quite a few choices.
