I have owned and still do own some of these. The weirdest tweaks I ever heard make the biggest scariest improvement in sound are the Peter Belt tweaks. I have auditioned most of them at a local audio salon that didn't even sell Peter Belt tweaks. Owner was just a tweaker. Too difficult to do business with the Belts so I never purchased any. Some of this stuff is belief systems. If you don't think/believe it can make a difference, it won't. Some of it is pure snake oil. Some of the ones I own make absolutely no difference in the sound. Don't even know why I have them laying around collecting dust.

I think one should never expect that all tweaks will work or work in all circumstances. I just don't understand the Scam Police types who unscientifically refuse to listen and assess.
it's called the nocebo effect ...
if you expect it not to work ..as likely as not it wont. Its that you then don't percieve the effect that may have occured ...
its the antithesis of the placebo
I'm curious Norm, why would you even start with the belief that anyone would ever expect all tweaks will work or work in all circumstances? How many people like this have you ever personally met? I've never actually met someone like that myself & although I've never met one of these "Scam Police types" you're talking about either, from the tone of some of the responses that are based on the OP's comments it does seem like there are some people who actually will and apparently do, refuse to simply listen and assess what they've just heard!
Where I am in total agreement with you is about the opposite of the "placebo effect" To few of the proponents of the "placebo effect" or "expectation bias" forget it works equally well both ways! So the instant anyone believes or proclaims someone else is hearing an improvement simply because they're expecting to, if they can think logically they'll have to agree it's 100% equally possible that the reason others, aren't hearing an improvement is simply because they're expecting not to!

However, there are many scam police here, on PC asylum, and especially on Prop head.
They typically demand double blind, same/different tests and focus on tweaks, power cables, and anything that suggest that bits are not bit in digital. I always wonder how they ever bought any audio gear or why they ever buy new equipment.

Really, I know of many who will try any tweak. In fact many think that is true of me. But these individuals do recognize that many don't work for them. Basically, they are willing to try versus the Scam Police unwillingness to try anything, because the laws of EE preclude there being any effect.
You misquote me again, sir, that's twice in one day. It's not nice to put words in someone's mouth. Tsk, tsk. So, are you deaf, all thumbs or just can't follow instructions? Perhaps all three - a Trifecta!
People who complain they can't hear tweaks are not all that in the Hearing Dept., are all thumbs or didn't follow instructions.
...to allow yourself to believe you hear what you think you hear. Or not.

That way YOU won't be stalking me. Don't you have a clock that needs winding or some phone calls to make?
Do tell. And which of the ones you own do make a difference in the sound?
or meant to say. What I meant to say was that I owned some of the tweaks on the OP's list. Never really heard my Bedini do anything. Never heard the Vibrapods do anything. The Belt tweaks that my audio salon owner friend had were endless. Belt had a disc spray that was scary what it did to the sound. I would not spray anything on my store bought CD's but he did to great effect. Never thought the foils did anything to the sound of a disc.
