Mapelshade iconoclast on cd player tray

seems to be causing hard dropouts. I had been spraying the cd and the tray until the dropouts started and, as I have stopped spraying the tray, the dropouts are decreasing. I dont understand. I'm using a Musical Fidelity 308 as a deck with a Lavry Engineering dac.

An "iconoclast" is someone who shatters established conventions. The Mapleshade device is the Ionoclast.

Did you mean Optrix or Mikro-Smooth? The Iconoclast is an Ion generator and should not be used near (digital) electronics.

  No, I mean the Iconoclast ion generator. I've read that it is used on interconnects, speaker wires, records, equipment cases, almost everything but to unplug first.

    Be careful Mapleshade says not to use it near gear plugged in or not. I have one myself and do CD's and cables with it.
