In Reply to: RE: Has anyone measured the impedance of Chris Ven Haus's Cat5 27 pair speaker cables?? posted by Julien43 on May 14, 2010 at 08:12:22
ask Chris? He might be able to get you in the ballpark. Also, his Chela speaker cables are a low inductance design and perhaps a similar characteristic impedance (to the Cat 5 design)...worth a try.

Actually I was hoping word of this post might get back to him.
I guess the direct approach is best

you will probably have to assume that Chris is right (i.e., the Zc of the Cat 5 falls between the Goetz MI-2 and Kimber 8TC) and in that case the Zc of your Cat 5 should fall between 5.1 ohms (MI2) and 10.1 ohms (8TC).Note: These figures are from a test/review in the May 2004 issue of AudioXpress magazine and were calculated from actual measurements which differed "slightly" from manufacturers specs.

That should get me in the ballpark.
Much appreciated!
