I mentioned this digital cable for DIY in Cable Asylum some time ago:
Note: Rather than being a length of Vampire DI-1 CCC (Continuous Cast Copper) digital cable as described in this particular eBay listing, the cable is actually a discontinued model Neotech ND-021090 UPOCC (Ultra Purity Ohno Continuous Cast) copper digital cable which is said to be the same cable. The bulk Neotech cable retailed @ about $38 per meter, as I can gather.
At $2.50 per foot ($12.50 for a 1.5 meter length) it's a full-on steal -- an excellent sounding digital cable at any price, really ;-)
If anyone may be interested, I can recommend various DIY termination options that would be suitable for the cable at various price points:

be very careful with both neotech and ebay branded cables ...
both are not nessesarily all they are claimed
if you read the neotech website you may spot a number of so called typo's if you don't realise they are typo's ..it means your being duped
forinstace there was a claim that a certain cable had a metal purity of 6n silver quoted as 99.9999% which is actually only .9999 or 4n when I challenged neotech ..they claimed it was just a typo but as far as I'm aware did nothing to correct this miss understanding by the web master !
as for ebay anything fro china that appears a bargin ...must bee looked at with great suspicion !
Your advice is good. In this case, I put some effort into researching the particular cable in question and feel confident in its authenticity -- that's just my personal conclusion, of course. It's a buyer beware situation anytime something questionable pops up for sale on eBay (and Audiogon, for that matter).

It's less front stage (more laid back) -- a bit polite vs. the Oyaide FTVS-510.
While the Oyaide FTVS-510 is still my primary digital cable, the Neotech cable is a very pleasant option for my digital front end cable swapping enjoyment.
The Neotech cable presents excellent coherency from top to bottom, detail, and a neutral sonic signature. It behaves very well and is a fine music maker, IME.

The wire is as you said it would be,,I purchased some of the Vampire RCA's that you suggested---assembled one today-- very happy with this investment,, detailed--but very smooth--slightly laid back--now thats after sbout 45 minutes of listening-- both the cable and RCA's are top shelf--thank you sir--actually,I'm gonna buy some more,.
Image: Vampire DI/I Digital Interconnect CableIf Vampire Wire were to offer a 'Special Edition' (upgraded connectors) 1.5 meter Vampire DI-1 digital cable featuring their premium C9X/CB Copper Body rca connectors instead of the standard brass C9X rca connectors, I reckon the retail price would be approximately $196.50.
Folks can buy the cable and connectors to build a DIY version for $37 or so. I would call that a big bang for the buck DIY cable project ;-)

It looks like a 1.5 meter length digital cable. Is it? If so, that's the way to go. A safe bet for coaxial S/PDIF is a to order a 5 foot length (1.5 meter) for any digital application, regardless of any given distance requirements for an audiophile system.
BTW, after the proverbial 400 hour burn-in time, I've found that the cable presents enough improved PRAT and inner detail to be notable. However, it still sounds a bit too polite (at least it doesn't sound congested) as placed in my particular system (at this time), but this could be a matter of more burn-in or other matters that may be discovered during the evaluation process.
Also (perhaps most importantly), the Vampire C9X/CB Copper Body rca connectors you have likely sound better for digital cable applications than the Vampire 800/CB Copper Base rca connectors that I'm currently using.

well, it been a week or so,, this cable is just perfect for me.Detailed,,slightly laid back,with just a tad of "organic warmth".I am replacing All of my digital cables with this one.From a price/performance perspective,I don't see how it can be beat.Sometimes when I am listening to a digital recording,I can hear what I would describe as a "digital edginess",,,NOT with this cable,maybe it's a synergy thing with the cable and the Vampire RCA's.If you are looking for smooth,detailed,and that organice sound,,give this one a try.BTW the seller has plenty of it--no affilation,,just a heartfelt "thank you" to Duster for this hook up--Thank you kindly.
