I decided on the full balanced, series wired, grounded configuration.
I sure hope Ralph doesn't see what I am feeding his amps. Can you say warranty null and void!.
Large 15 amp Bybee Quantum Purifier directly connected into the hospital grade wall plug. No room for the main housing, so electrical tape. Could that be a slight violation?.
The positive and negative leads tightly wound around the ByBee's, then soldered. More electrical tape, and I mean a lot.
Everything murreted, wrapped in tape.
The iec plug has the 600V 0.22uF capacitor wired right into the plug, more electrical tape.
Positives; 119.3 v at the iec. There is NO transformer hum at initial plugin, sweet.
Time to listen.

Cuz, why not install that tranny in a nice chassis ? Less than $100 shipped from Par-Metal. You will need a metal plate under the tranny to provide reinforcement.

The xfmr can only supply 8.7 amps max maybe less, in a balanced configuration..... The power amp's power supply will starve for dynamic power.

No load condition? For a real world voltage reading you have to measure the voltage with the load connected to the xfmr.
Play some music at a moderate volume level.... Music with lots of dynamics.... Then check the voltage. Bet the voltage will be jumping all over the place.

The voltage at the wall socket is now 18.5v. Sunday afternoon.
The voltage at the iec with the amps on but a whisper of music playing is 15.4v.
With the volume turned quite high, above normal listening levels, we get 15.1v as a minimum, up to 15.3v.
My wife says it sounds a lot better, no grain to Marriane Faithful's voice, but we do have to turn the volume up two more notches on the pre to get the perceived volume levels from before.
Hey Jim
Just reconfigured the tranny to run in parallel. All of the sweetness of the series wiring is still there, and the punch is back.
18.5 v at the wall, 17.5 v at the iec.
The amps where being starved with the series wiring, not so now.
Thanks all who responded.
