I have questions about Cardas solder. There are 2 types; Trieutectic and quadeutecctic. How difference are they? Which one is better? How's about WBT and Wonder solder? Are they Tri or quad eutectic type?
thank you

Bought a roll of Quad on e-pay for about $70 USD + ship. Compared to other Rosin Core and Lead Free solders I have used, the Cardas solder flows very well. So far I have had excellent results.
...there's a guy in Texas who sells on Ebay 10' and 20' lengths of Cardas Quad Eutectic solder for a reasonable price.
Tri and Quad are to denote the number of alloys are used in the solder, three or four. Since lead is verbotten these days, a little silver added helps wetting and lowers the pasty range of the solder. Most eutectic solders are 4 to 5 percent silver bearing. Of course to mention silver in an audiophile crowd and suddenly opinions become like a**holes, everybody has one. he he
I haven't tried the tri, but I presently use the quad and I'm very happy with its ease of use and musicality. There's a guy on Ebay who sells partial lengths for those who don't do a lot of soldering.
