In your situation no noise the copper union will not benefit. I have one on my preamp and amp and it really improved the sound, so add them listen take them away and few times you hear a big improvement or you will not.
One of the tweaks on the video I not sure I like and that was adding the grounding wire, to me it leaned things out to much, lost some punch and meat to the music. All the rest worked like a charm.
I also added one to the male end on the cd player, and that again lowered the noise floor. So buy several and play with them. They work great on LCD/Plasma also.
I just added one to my IEC cord that power up the PS audio Quintet that power up my video gear. Better audio right away, picture a bit more detailed, but the audio really jump out.

Thanks. I note a lot of stray AC around the male ends, where they're attached to power conditioners, and was groaning about how many copper unions I would need if I did them all.
Regarding grounding, I still haven't been able to overcome the stray AC around those two SET amp IEC connections mentioned below However, the beeping will stop if I touch the copper unions that are on the IECs. So I figured that clipping copper alligators to these unions and connecting the attached wire to a known ground would stop the beeps, but so far it hasn't.
Well, Dave you found a new profession as a Sound Enhancer, "keep in touch" is your motto.
I had to stop at hardware store for something else and they wanted $3.60 for a Cu union. I'll stop at HD when I go that way.
