    Pardon my ignorance but what is copper 'union'?
    Is it just copper pipe?
    
    And does the copper need to make a firm connection to the chassis and ground for this to work?

      The copper should touch the chassis. It a peice of copper that joins to pipes together they are light weight and easy to install. Easy to a/b the difference also. Just have to slide the copper union away from the chassis.
      
      Do all the tweaks though for the best outcome, they are cheap.
