I replaced the 16000uf PS caps in a Bedini 801 amp with Cornell Dubilier 33000uf- both are rated at 75VDC. The Rt channel played clearly, & the Lt side only had a slight hum on the speaker. I turned off amp then on again & Rt side became fuzzy & distorted. I turned off amp immediately. What is going on here? I also installed an IEC plug on amp.
Follow Ups:
Bad solder joint mebbe? Is the orientation of both caps correct?
Al terminations are with srew terminals on caps.
Sorry for the follow up delay. If you haven't found the problem yet, try swapping the two PS caps and see what happens. If the problem stays in the original channel, then there is something else going on. But again, recheck ALL your connections. Poor or loose connections have been the cause of many headaches in the tweaks game.
Good Luck!
I will swap the units. Tkx R
