Is anyone out there who has tried the Environmental Potentials EP-2450 (or their other products) willing to share some opinions on how this compares to other conditioners for a purely audio setup? It's gotten some really good reviews, with one reviewer selling off his $4000 Walker Audio Velocitor after hearing this $750 unit. Also, has anyone tried this unit with Alan Maher's PE's? I love Alan's stuff and want to be sure this unit "plays nicely" with his PE's.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts
Chris

I seem to be jumping in on your posts quite a bit, but I do have experience here. I put in the 2450 before the Alan Maher power conditioner III. The EP-2450 mad a substantial change when I introduced it. The Alan Maher made some difference, but not all that much. It may be that most of the clean-up had been done by the 2450 and not much grunge was left for the Alan Maher device to clean up. My sequence of introducing devices was:
Richard Grey: made a nice improvement, but not a large one.
EP 2450: made a substantial improvement.
quartz in the breaker box: pretty large improvement.
quartz around electronics: pretty large improvement.
tourmaline various places: pretty large improvement.
Alan Maher PC III: Some improvement, but not that big.
If the Alan Maher device were to have gone in first, it might have changed things more. I don't know.
Hi Paul
Thanks for the tips. How much quartz did you put in the breaker box, and by "around the electronics", could you be more specific like, where, what size crystals, etc? Where did you find tourmaline made the biggest difference? Again, how much tourmaline are we talking in each of these spots? The EP, you're using the line conditioner that goes at the gear; right? or are you using the one that goes at the service entrance to the house and does the whole house?
Thanks
Chris
I'm using the EP that goes at the service entrance, or in my case, inside the breaker box. For the crystal locations, you should try out different locations yourself. The quartz is tricky and quite variable depending on the source. Most of the quartz that I got from costume jewelry sources didnt't do anything or very little at most. I got some lab grade quartz discs for about $25 apiece--2" dia. x 1/4" thick that worked well. The QR8's work pretty well too. Tourmaline worked fine, but so did topaz and it's really cheap. Aqua aura works well too. You really should try these out for yourself, though. If you do a search on these things, you will find out quite a bit. I believe there was some good info on the isolation ward too (impossible as that may sound).
