I recently tentatively recommended some 'crystal' vases from Target for a tweaking project, unfortunately it turns out they weren't actually crystal vases. I bought a pair to try out, but because of their size they wouldn't safely situate above my 4" ceramic tile tables. Ergo, I don't know if they're effective or not. Here's a photo of my current left channel assembly. This tweak is one of my absolute favorites.

I have a pair of these Baccarat Neptune tuning devices. Once you try them, you'll never want to go back.

Costs a little more, but well worth it. I mean, you don't buy faux Brilliant Pebbles, right? Why settle for inferior crystal?
Much better than Bacarrat's Messina or Harcourt lines.
Reasonably priced, too.
You can get them at the link at the bottom.
Time to step up to the good stuff, man!

If I see any at a thrift store I'll undoubtedly give 'em a whirl.
Wellfed!
Totally different crystaline structure, lead content, temperature of manufactures...huge qualitative differences.
Would a box of aquarium rocks trump a baggy of your Brilliant Pebbles?
Would an entire Encyclopedia Britannica be better for your sound than just one Intelligent Chip?
Dude, you gotta work through some issues if you want big boy quality sonics!
I'll tell ya, you haven't tuned your system until you've Neptuned it!
Cheers.

Unless it's a Target Tweak, you suddenly become unable to appreciate the finer nuances of tweaking?
Sheet, man, you're playing with glass, not crystal. And you expect credibility? Come on, open your mind - the best tweaks take some hunting somewhere beyond the aisles of where you go to buy your current home furnishings!.
Wise up!
;)
If you can afford the Machina Dynamica line, then you can afford stepping up to better enhancers than cheap molded glass!

.... and what would you be putting in those tonight? ;-)

No DRAMATIC differences? No increased depth of soundstage? Greater liquidity in the string section? More there, there? If you can't tell, then as any sane person would have expected in the first place, they're NOT effective. Maybe you could still use them for something that IS effective. Like holding flowers. In all fairness though, gotta give you a big "Atta boy!" for letting everyone know it was a false alarm.

I NEVER tried the Target vases as indicated by the asterisk in my original posting. Later, when I went to test the new 'crystal' for myself I found I couldn't perform a straight swap of the two vases because of their differing dimensions. Since my installation is somewhat elaborate I wasn't about to reconfigure my setup in order to find out. You can take your chances, or you can whine, the choice is entirely up to you.
I'm laughing.

If he were 'one of those' tweakers, he'd just declare that it worked and be done with it.

Or, as a by-product of a vivid imagination, extol the virtues of it's magical acoustic properties.
