In Reply to: RE: The Millennium M-CD cd mat is outstanding. Whether used on a player or in ripping to a server. posted by Norm on September 19, 2008 at 20:37:40
You actually get different data files when you rip a CD with this mat than you do when you rip without it?
Follow Ups:
...than the 0s and 1s on the data file.
Why do you think CDs burned to a computer server sound better than the CD?
Jitter or lack of it.
Error correction or not.
Same data being reproduced.
uh, ..... somehow improve the quality of the software installation?
More less-corrupted files?

In most cases the WAVs show no errors. I had previously found I preferred cleaned but otherwise not treated rips to more treated disc rips. I have kept several of these alternative rips for anyone who comes by to listen. There have been two thus far and both just shook their heads while agreeing with me. It is true that the rips are much faster with the Millennium than without.
If they're identical files, but they sound different, that would truly be amazing.
