You go to the trouble of ordering some Vishay MKP caps of the wrong value. Yeah, I did it and at $1.75 each it's not really worth sending the ten of them back for exchange. That said, they are 630V .1uF caps. What if I use them to by-pass some of the power supply caps -will I get a smoother voltage and slightly higher voltage level? Of course, wouldn't use them for a level close to or higher than their rating. Thanks

I have a whole bunch of capacitors, inductors, and resistors built up from making that same mistake. Once is fine but when you do it multiple times, then you can join the bone-heads.

Sure, it's worth trying these as PS bypass caps, though it may not do much if your PS caps are very large capacity.
If you wanna sell'em, I'll be interested in some for my Cap shootout and research.
Jon L,
Thanks for the offer, but figure I will pretty much be trying the same thing. What the heck, it's just some time and is informing. Um, bought them from MOUSER and it was very easy. MOUSER stock number is:
75-MKP1840410634. Only took 5 days to get to my home using UPS ground.

I had Philips MKP .068 uF 1600V bypassing a couple of 330 uF 450V, doing a few mods, I relocated the 330, and didnt bother with the MKPs, the sound became thin, less bass, unpleasant highs... :O
MKPs back, sound back too, so I would give it a try for sure...
