If you really crave to have your system sound better, without replacing any components or resorting to the voodoo you see peddled on Audiogon, follow this recipe:
A fifth of Jack Daniels and a couple bong hits. Works every time.
Follow Ups:
Actually it won't sound any better, but you won't care anymore!
Best Regards,Lou
A 2004 bottle of Santa Cristina Sangiovese works like no other
tweak i have tried. For 10 bucks those thousand dollar whatchamacallits do what #$!^*)(_? <, WHAT play more music, OK
Obviously I have this all wrong. Help me correct the error of my ways
Please send me a bottle of your favorite libation so I can try this tweak out for myself :~)

Now that, my friend, is damn good :-)

Agreed, that stuff is damn tasty.
Yeah, I guess you are right- I stopped doing that when I played in bands, because the tunes sounded so good, I'd stop playing Bass guitar in teh middle of songs to listen!!!
So I suppose that it has merit as an audiophile tweak...
YIKES...
A black light, a couple bong hits and some iced Absolut vodka and you realize why the " high end " exists......but a whole fifth!? that seems a bit excessive you want to tweak your senses....not kill them :)
Yep, booze seems to be the most popular tweak amongst audiophiles, staunch Objectivist or rightgeous Subjectivist, whether they realize it or not.
It's important to stay well hydrated when listening; unfortunately alcohol has a tendency to dehydrate, among other drawbacks.

I take exepshum to thaat. Sm uv uss can hanle rr likur!!
.
Do you prefer the regular or the twelve year old variant?
We like the regular.
Cheers
I prefer the regular as well. Oh, and I don't drink a fifth at every listening session as my original post might have suggested. I was merely playin' along with the fun.
although I enjoy a taste of the grape, quaff a wee dram occasionally, and love my hops, alcohol absolutely ruins a serious listening session for me.
As for the 'owl, I'm a little out of practice there....who knows?
with no side-effects!
Have a hypnotist implant in you the conviction that your stereo sounds absolutely wonderful.
When I lost my Cartridge cantilever it turned out to be a very expensive tweak....... Maybe if you cut back the fifth to a couple of shots.....
8^)
