In Reply to: RE: Problem with Rotel 855 after op amp swap. Help please! posted by zanash on January 06, 2008 at 03:06:46
Thank you.
I think I did damage the pcb traces. My solder iron might be too high of tempture. It was acting weird and I did not notice the extra high tempt until too late. Not only the part where the op amp go into, I think this part is still ok, but the pin for cd motor connection, it is totally off. What can I do in this case, where the pcb traces are off and how do I re-solder to a point where the trace is damaged?
Please help.
Thank you
Follow Ups:
in my case where this has happened I've replaced the trace with hard wire [silver 0.2mm] you need to go back to a node or solder pad and extend the hard wire trace replacenment to the solder pad beyond the damaged trace..
its impossible in my experience to use the original trace if its lifted off the pcb ....unless its very slight then a dab of super glue can recover the situation.
Thank you. I will try that. Though hassle, but seems the only way now to salvage the situation.
As what Zanash had said, trace and use a good quality wire to solder. I had done that to my nad 502 and it's working perfectly now.
Thank you. I will try this.
I was hoping there is something I can put to the trace, some kind of solution or a flux or something that would make solder re-stick and at the same time reconnect the circuit.
