Actually, my setup sounds much more than "listenable" even now, but again, the caps spent 75 hours with much more current going through them than in a circuit. What happens to the bass after hundreds of hours? I hope bass quantity increases a bit more than now, where it's much less than Auricaps so far...

The bass won't increase any further than the amp is capable of producing but it WILL improve in quality. The only way the quanity of bass would change is if you changed the value of the capacitor. What amp is it by the way? Just curious.

I'm experimenting with Bottlehead Paramours in the coupling cap position between 12AT7/6201 and 2A3. Doc originally uses 0.1uF there but told me 0.047uF will be close enough with minus 1dB at 25Hz, which is already beyond what the tube/transformer is capable of.
Why 0.047uF? The darned price of VCaps, of course :) I also plan to drop some into Almarro A205a MkII, which uses 0.047 stock coupling caps.
In Paramours, actually the parafeed cap has more effect on the bass quantity, so I just tried dropping in some VSE oil caps (5uF) into that position replacing Solens, and yes there's more bass, but I don't think I'm the kind of guy who enjoys this warmer, denser oil cap signature.
Know of any good film caps in 4 to 5 uF range that won't break the bank? I'm thinking Auricaps, maybe Sonicap gen I?
... and the V-cap OIMP cap is very nice withoput that overly warmth character like most oil-filled caps. They are a little pricey, but worth it.
I think I might have an extra pair of Hovland 4.0uf, 100V Musicaps I'll sell you dirt cheap, if you can use them. The caps have a lower voltage rating for speaker crossovers, so they might not work in your circuitry.
Obbligato aluminum film and oil caps, halfway down the page. Been using them about a year, now. Parafeed in my 45 amp, output in my ARC pre and low pass in my crossover. Too cheap for some:-)
yesterday into Parafeed position, 5uF. These used be sold by Vacuum State Electronics. I've cooked them for about a week before use.
Well, they sound quite different from Solens. Much richer, warmer, with more bass quantity. Surprisingly quite detailed up to the midrange, but I sense I can get better air and upper-midrange accuracy with other non-oil caps.
