Yes....the filter will be in series with the component in this type of application....no different than hard wiring the filter across the iec socket. Instead of a 4" lead you have a 12" lead, the jumper does nothing to change the filter performance.

Then I assume if there is enough room inside a CD player or amp, I could place your Power Enhancer inside the component chassis and hardwire it to the IEC. Of cource, I would make sure to hardwire the proper hot and neutral wire to and from the IEC and Power Enhancers. From my understanding the Power Enhancer should still be in series with the components. This is something I might do in the future simply because I hate clutter.
The PE case is kind of big for internal applications, but I actually looked at the idea of a DIY version months back. If folks are interested let me know and I'll stock up on the parts.
