My power setup is currently using two power cords with Oyaide P004 / C004 connectors, and I have three receptacles to pair them with; one is a double cryoed Hubbell IG5362 receptacle, one is the latest furutech gold receptacle, and one is an older model furutech silver receptacle.Between the three receptacles, I can't find a combination I like. When I use the hubble and the silver receptacles, the bass is nice and controlled, the sound is focused, the midrange tone is a bit cold, and the highs are forward. When I switch one of them to the gold receptacle, the highs become more laid back, the soundstage expands but becomes more diffuse, the midrange becomes warmer and more inviting, and the bass becomes boomy.
Swapping between the hubble and the silver receptacle, I notice the silver's highs are a bit more forward, but thats about it.
I love the mids of the gold receptacle, but I can't stand the out of control bass. Any suggestions for a receptacle on the warm side with controlled low end?
Thank you,
Biggie.

IME, the Oyaide 004 Beryllium AC connector mates best with the Oyaide R1 Beryllium AC outlet and the Wattgate Ag AC outlet. Both models provide outstanding synergy, IMHO. Well worth the coin spent to get the best out of the 004's...
How does the bass on the Oyaide R1 Beryllium compare to the Wattgate Ag? Does one of them have less bass then the other?
Thanks,
Biggie.
NotoriousBIG_PJ,
I have the Oyaide R1 duplex outlets. You can use them for 15 amp circuits also.
I recently sent John Cook at Black Sand two of my stock Black Sand Violets (Marinco/Wattgate terminations) to re-terminate w/Oyaide P-004 and C-004. John chose to make me two new Violets with the P-004/C-004 and these have been on my Denon 3930CI player and Modwright SWL 9.0 Signature linestage (w/Bendix 6900s and cryoed Philips metal base GZ34/5AR4 NOS 1957 in the tube rectified power supply) for several weeks now.
Based on the sonic results, the Oyaide R-1 outlets are definitely the ones to pair with the Oyaide P-004/C-004 power cord terminations!

The Oyaides are all superior to the Furus. I never liked the Hubbels at all and don't even consider them in the Furu/Oyaide league.
Oyaides come in the 3 plating flavors, and these days the Ultimo versions of those too. Plus there's the now highly touted R1 for 20 amp circuits.
I have experience with some Hubbels, copper only Furu, and Oyaide SWO-XXX and the Ultimo version of the same (not to mention tweaked P&S). My take is that you get more detail and HF as you go from copper (or brass) to gold to silver (or rhodium) platings, which you may or may not like in the end. So far the Ultimo and the SWO-XXX work best in my system in different places. Have not tried any of the golds.
Be aware that all of these take significant time to burn in properly and your first, second and third impressions may differ just as significantly until they are fully burnt in. Then they'll likely come out balanced as best that particular outlet can.
From Duster and Kenster, the word is that the plugs you mate them with are a second significant factor.

Thanks for the reply.
I just checked and the model I have is a Hubbell IG5362.
Biggie.
Sometimes, you can change the in room base response by pushing your speakers around.
I used a source that plays steady tones and a sound pressure meter at my listening position, and plat the in room response, then push the speakers around to get the smoothest in room response.
